This graceful and elegant breed of toy dog is noted for its affectionate nature, patience and eagerness to please. Historically associated with royalty, they can be traced back to the Toy Spaniels bred at the time of King Canute. The breed gained their name from a dog that was the boyhood pet of Charles II, who was widely known as 'Cavalier King Charles'. Extremely popular, these spaniels are often considered to be the ultimate lap dog!
