Product Information This starter kit is simplicity in a box. It has been designed so a first time user can buy everything they require to start CB'ing in one package. Included in the pack: 1 X TTI 550 CB Radio 1 X 5" Mag Mount 1 X Small Black Springer CB Radio, a brief history Citizens Band radios burst onto the UK scene back in the 1980s, operating on the 27mHZ band, they were a simple means of a vehicle to vehicle communication before mobile phones became common place. Fast forward to 2010 and they continue to be wildly used by truckers and other people who are often on the road for long periods. Unlike mobile phones they are not illegal to use while driving, even under the new law, they can be used to keep in contact with multiple people simultaneously and have a range of around five miles (subject to terrain). This makes them a perfect solution for all road users who want to keep in contact with friends on the road. Uses CB radios can be installed into any appliance with a 12v DC power supply and somewhere to mount an aerial. (The aerial base is 6" diameter and magnetic, it must be mounted on a flat metal surface). Popular applications for CB radios are 4X4's, trucks, motorbikes and motor homes. Each radio has 80 available channels for use in the UK and once installed you have unlimited access to each an every one of them. Out on the open road you can expect to receive updates on traffic problems from other users and feel a sense of community as you cruise, incident-free, to your destination. TTI 550 CB Radio This is one of the smallest radios available. It is "multi-standard" so as well as covering all legal UK channels you can also use it in other EU countries by simply selecting a different "country code" (it will work on AM & FM in countries which permit this).
